East London Painting Prize - 2014

Film documenting the inaugural East London Painting Prize

The East London Painting Prize has been created by The Legacy List and Bow Arts, with kind support from the Goldhill Family and the Zabludowicz Collection. The prize, now in its second year, honours the life and work of painter and philanthropist, Jack Goldhill.

The prize is open to both established and emerging artists living or working in the east london boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Havering, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge.

The East London Painting Prize aims to explore and celebrate the diversity in painting practices and different approaches to the medium and to champion contemporary artists emerging from East London.

Shortlisted artists will take part in a group show with prize event. The selected winner will receive a £10,000 cash prize and a prominent solo show at the Nunnery Gallery. The winning artist will also have the opportunity to form part of the significant panel in the 2015 East London Painting Prize. 2014's winner was painter Nathan Eastwood, who's solo show Work / Recreation / Freedom was exhibited at Nunnery Gallery from October - December 2014.
